Windows 8 style rom is now available to install on Samsung Galaxy Y. After installing the custom ROM, your phone will looks like windows phone 8. The ROM is named asMonochromatic. The ROM includes everything looks like a windows operating system. It includes messaging app, dialer app and also launcher. Here is a guide to update your phone with Monochromatic Windows 8 ROM on Samsung Galaxy Y.

The Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is normally comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread as an Operating System. There is no official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade from Samsung mobile Support. Because the phone’s hardware configuration is not supported for the upgrade. The Phone is comes with 800 MHz processor, 3.2 Mega pixel camera, Capacitive touch Screen. PRE REQUIREMENTS:

• First your mobile must be rooted. Check this – How to Root Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 (rooting procedure in the end of post)
• Then install ClockWorkMod custom Recovery. Check this – ClockWorkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Y
• We recommend you to take a backup of the data in your phone. After installing the ROM, all the files and data will be deleted.

• SMS – Backup Messages
• Contacts – Sync with Gmail App
• Videos, Images, Songs and Other Files – Copy to internal / External SD card or System
• APN Settings – Take Manual Note from “Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

• Then maintain minimum 60% charge in your phone’s battery. This will help you to don’t get switched of your phone.
• And disable any antivirus and firewalls too.

HOW TO INSTALL MONOCHROMATIC WINDOWS 8 ROM ON SAMSUNG GALAXY Y:

• Download the ROM Monochromatic WP8 5.7.1 SYNERGY (NO KERNEL).zip – Here
• Then connect your phone with PC using USB cable and transfer the downloaded file to your mobile’s SD card.
• After that disconnect your phone from Computer.
• Switch off your phone and reboot in recovery mode.
• To open recovery mode in your mobile, press HOME + VOLUME UP + POWER button together.
• You can use Volume Up and Down keys to navigate and Home button to select an option.
• Then do wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache and format cache, format data, format system in the recovery.
• After that, select “Install Zip from SD card” then in next page select “Choose zip from SD card”
• Then select the downloaded zip file. And in next page confirm the selection.
• Wait for the process finish.
• In few minutes your phone will display a message completed in recovery mode.
• After that, select “Go back” option and then “reboot system now” to reboot your device.
• Note: First time boot will take some long time. It will install the ROM updates on first time restarting phone. It takes some minutes to show the home screen on first time.

Installation Guide : 

Note: It would be better if u make a backup and Root your device first before proceeding

• 1. Install Clockworkmod Recovery in your phone.
• 2. Download the Kitkat ROM zip 
• 3. Connect your phone to the PC with Mass Storage mode and transfer the Zip file into your SD card. 
• 4. Then disconnect from PC. 
• 5. Switch off your phone. And Switch on in Recovery Mode by pressing “Volume Up + Power + 6. Home Button” together. 
• 6. In Recovery mode, select “Install Zip from SD card”. Then select “Choose Zip from SD card”. After that, select the kitkat ROM zip file. 
• 7. In few minutes your Samsung Galaxy Y will gets updated with Creed ROM. 
• 8. Wipe data and delete all users
• 9. Then Reboot your phone by choosing reboot system now.

1. Flash Stock DXLF ROM through ODIN

 1a) Download Latest ODIN Software here

1c) On your PC click on the downloaded ODIN Software after extracting it, it should look like this


1.d Extract the ZIP of the DXLF Stock ROM and you should have 3 files like this

1.e On the ODIN communicator software

Browse in PDA Section and select PDA_S5360_DXLF2.tar.md5

1.f Turn off your phone, and when phone is completely off

1.g On the ODIN Communicator software see if there is a "Added" color yellow in the Messagebox

1.h Wait till it will say Success in the log,

1.i Wait for the phone to completely boot up

2. Download first the DXLF Deodexed Stock Rom here: DXLF Deodexed (CREDITS TO ZALONDABUZZ)

3. Install the DXFL Deodexed Stock ROM

3.a. When the phone is off press and hold VOLUME UP+CENTER KEY+POWER for 5 secs

3.b. from stock recovery select "update from SD card"

3.c. select "cwm_bla_bla.zip"

. now your phone will run the CWM, go to "install zip from SD"

3.d. from there choose "choose zip from SDcard"

3.e. navigate through the folder where you have saved the DXLF Deodexed (CREDITS TO ZALONDABUZZ)[/b]

3.f. select "yes", wait till it finishes, then reboot system

NO NEED FOR DATA/CACHE WIPE

4. Reboot the phone, and wait until it successfully boots (It will take some time)

5. Turn the phone completely off, When the phone is off press and hold VOLUME UP+CENTER KEY+POWER for 5-10 secs

6. from stock recovery select "update from SD card"

7. select "cwm_bla_bla.zip"

8. now your phone will run the CWM, go to "install zip from SD"

9. from there choose "choose zip from SDcard"

10. navigate through the folder where you have saved the latest version of monochromatic

11. select "yes", wait till it finishes, then reboot system
